We have investigated the area around Honmachi 3-chome assuming that the detective one-day fee is 39.800 yen (our fee) for a 3-hour investigation. Honmachi 3-chome belongs to an area called Semba in Chuo-ku, Osaka. Semba was a castle town that was the center of Osaka townspeople’s culture.
本町三丁目は、江戸時代から戦前期にかけて商業の町として栄えました。本町三丁目の現在は、船場のほぼ中央を東西方向に貫く本町通り沿いの両側がエリアです。南北に短くて、東西に細長いエリアとなっています。
Honmachi 3-chome flourished as a commercial town from the Edo period to the prewar period. Currently, Honmachi 3-chome is an area on both sides along Honmachi Street, which runs in an east-west direction almost in the center of Semba. It is a short area from north to south and elongated from east to west.
北は備後町・安土町、南は南本町、東は東横堀川 本町橋を挟んで本町橋（町名）。西は西横堀川跡の阪神高速1号環状線北行きを挟んで西区 靱本町・西本町とそれぞれ接しています。本町三丁目には、大阪城や難波宮跡などの歴史的遺産が近くにあります。また、文楽や能楽などの伝統文化も楽しめます。
Bingo Town and Azuchi Town to the north, Minami Honmachi to the south, Higashi Yokobori River Honmachi Bridge to the east Honmachi Bridge (town name). To the west, it borders Utsuboto and Nishihonmachi in Nishi-ku across the Hanshin Expressway No. 1 Loop Route northbound at the site of the Nishi-Yokobori River. 船場という名前の由来には、いくつかの説があります。一般的な説としては、古代は船着き場であって、着船場の「着」の字を省いて「船場」となったというものです。他にも、戦争があった場所で「戦場」と呼ばれたとか、大坂城の馬を洗った場所で「洗馬」と呼ばれたとか、砂浜であったため「砂場（さば）」と呼ばれ、これが転訛して「センバ」となったという説もあります。

近松門左衛門に代表される浄瑠璃や歌舞伎、懐徳堂で学んだ町人学者たち、大阪のお好み焼きやたこ焼きなどの食文化など、船場の町人文化は上方文化の源流となりました。
Semba’s townspeople culture, such as Jōruri, Kabuki, and kabuki represented by Chikamatsu Monzaemon, townspeople scholars who studied at Kaitokudo, and food culture such as okonomiyaki and takoyaki in Osaka, became the origin of Kamigata culture.
