肥後橋は、江戸時代には肥後藩の蔵屋敷があった場所で、北区と西区を結ぶ土佐堀川に架かる橋です。明暦3年（1657）の「新板大坂之図」には肥後殿橋とあり、古くはこう呼ばれたこともあったそうです。

When it was converted into an iron bridge in Meiji 21, the Higo Bridge moved to the street of Watanabebashi. After it was washed away by a flood in 18 years, it was built with an iron bridge along with Watanabe Bridge.
