熊本県阿蘇郡南阿蘇村にある豊肥本線（ほうひほんせん）・立野駅（たてのえき）。阿蘇カルデラ（阿蘇火山の爆発で誕生した釜状の凹部）の外輪山の一角にあたり、実は外輪山が白川の浸食で唯一途切れるのがこの立野駅周辺。
Tateno Station on the Hohi Main Line is located in Minamiaso Village, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture. It is located in a corner of the outer ring of the Aso Caldera (a kettle-shaped depression created by the explosion of the Aso volcano), and in fact, the area around Tateno Station is the only area where the outer ring is interrupted by the erosion of the Shirakawa River.

新水前寺駅周辺には、お土産を販売しているお店があるようです。また、水前寺観光センターは九州最大級のお土産専門店で、熊本のからし蓮根・馬刺し・馬肉加工品・代表銘菓はもちろん、明太子やカステラ、さつまあげなど九州全域のお土産も取り揃えているそうです。

ＪＲ豊肥本線水前寺駅から駅前の中央の道を直進し、徒歩約8分
熊本空港よりリムジンバスに乗車→水前寺公園前下車（約40分/運賃590円）、徒歩約10分
熊本ICから車で25分
益城熊本空港ICから車で15分
水前寺観光センターの営業時間について。
About the opening hours of Suizenji Tourist Center.
3月～10月、9:00～18:00まで。
11月～2月、9:30～17:00まで。
お食事については通常、AM11:00～PM3:00内で予約を受け付けております。上記営業時間外のご利用を希望されるお客様は、お電話にてご相談下さい。
