We have investigated Shin-Tosu Station (Shinkansen) assuming that the detective one-day fee is 39.800 yen (our fee) for a 3-hour investigation. 新鳥栖駅は、2011年3月12日に九州新幹線（鹿児島ルート）の博多駅 – 新八代駅間の開業に伴い、九州旅客鉄道（JR九州）の駅として開業しました。詳細な歴史については、Wikipediaのウェブサイトで確認することができます。
Shin-Tosu Station opened on March 12, 2011 as a station of Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) with the opening of the Kyushu Shinkansen (Kagoshima Route) between Hakata Station and Shin-Yatsushiro Station. A detailed history can be found on the Wikipedia website.
駅舎は鳥の翼を連想させる曲線のフォルムで、躍動感とスピード感をあらわしたという。新幹線は在来線の真上直近に位置し、島式ホーム2面4線を有する高架駅です。通過線はなく、可動式安全柵が設置されています。
The station building has a curved shape reminiscent of a bird’s wing, expressing a sense of dynamism and speed. The Shinkansen is located directly above the conventional line and is an elevated station with two island platforms and four tracks. There are no passing lines, a movable safety fence is installed.
在来線は新幹線の高架直下に建設された相対式ホーム2面2線を有する地上駅で、互いのホームは跨線橋により連絡してます。在来線改札口は鳥栖方面ホームに面しています。
The conventional line is an above-ground station with two relative platforms and two tracks built directly under the Shinkansen overpass, and the platforms are connected by an overpass. The conventional line ticket gate faces the platform for Tosu.
新幹線改札口と在来線改札口は1か所ずつで、新幹線改札口は直営駅、在来線改札口はJR九州サービスサポートへの業務委託駅です。

向かい合わせに設置（北側が新幹線、南側が在来線）されており直接の乗換口はなく、両路線を乗り換える際にはいったん改札口を出る必要があります。

このほか西口のタクシー乗り場脇に在来線ホームをまたぐエレベーター・エスカレーター付きの跨線橋があり、駅の南側からもアクセスが可能になっています。

在来線改札口横には、中央軒による立ち食いうどんの店が設置されており、改札内外から利用が可能。ここでは鳥栖駅の名物である「焼麦（しゃおまい）」や「かしわめし」などの駅弁を購入することもできます。

またファミリーマート（JR九州リテールが運営）が駅構内にあります。2018年（平成30年）8月には佐賀県による「ピアノの駅」プロジェクトにより駅構内にアップライトピアノが設置されました。
In addition, FamilyMart (operated by JR Kyushu Retail) is located in the station. In August 2018 (Heisei 30), an upright piano was installed in the station premises by the “Piano Station” project by Saga Prefecture.
