このお寺は、宝塔寺（ほうとうじ）の塔頭（たっちゅう）の一つであり、静謐（せいひつ）な堂内と美しい境内（けいだい）が特徴です。宝塔寺（ほうとうじ）は京都最古の多宝塔で知られており、日蓮宗妙顕寺（みょうけんじ）派に属しています。
It is one of the Tatchu of Hotoji Temple, and is characterized by its tranquil hall and beautiful precincts. Hotoji Temple is known for being the oldest Tahoto pagoda in Kyoto and belongs to the Myokenji sect of Nichiren Buddhism.
慈雲院（じうん-いん）は明治期に塔頭の玉泉院（ぎょくせん-いん）と合併されました。境内には６つの塔頭（たっちゅう）寺院が並び、その一つが慈雲院（じうん-いん）です。再興された日銀によって開かれたお寺であり、日蓮宗の歴史的な場所として訪れる価値があります。
Jiun-in was merged with Gyokusen-in in the Meiji period. There are six Tatcyu temples in the temple grounds, one of which is Jiun-in. It is a temple opened by the revitalized Bank of Japan and is worth visiting as a historical site of Nichiren Buddhism.
