中崎西一丁目の歴史については、明治30年に豊崎村の南部が大阪市北区へ編入された際に、本庄浮田町・本庄黒崎町・本庄中野町・本庄葉村町・本庄横道町・本庄東権現町・本庄西権現町の町名が誕生しました。

この時の本庄中野町・本庄葉村町・本庄横道町の東部が現在の中崎、本庄東権現町が現在の中崎西におおむね該当するとされています。また、昭和53年に実施された新住居表示により、中崎へと町名が変わり、現在は中崎町という地名はなく、中崎1～3丁目、中崎西1～4丁目となっているそうです。
