天王町駅前公園は、江戸時代に保土ヶ谷宿の入口に架かっていた帷子橋の跡地です。帷子橋は、歌川広重の「東海道五十三次之内保土ヶ谷」にも描かれた有名な橋でした。
Tennocho Ekimae Park is the site of the Hoshibashi Bridge that spanned the entrance of Hodogaya-juku in the Edo period. Hoshibashi was a famous bridge that was also depicted in Utagawa Hiroshige’s “Tokaido 53 Jinnouchi Hodogaya”.
昭和31年（1956年）に帷子川の川筋が付け替えられ、帷子橋も位置を移しました。その一部が現在の天王町駅前公園になりました。
In Showa 31 (1956), the course of the Hoshi River was changed, and the Hoshi Bridge was also relocated. Part of it became the current Tennocho Station Park.
