京都市左京区南禅寺福地町にある臨済宗南禅寺派の寺院です。

大本山南禅寺の塔頭（たっちょう）です。

It is the tatcho of the Nanzenji temple of Omotoyama.

We would like to report that we have been investigating Tenjuin assuming that the one-day fee for a detective is 39.800 yen (our fee) for a 3-hour survey.

history

天授院は、虎関師錬（こかんしれん）によって南禅寺開山の無関普門（むかんふもん）を奉祀するために創建されました。

Tenjuin was built by Kokan Shiren to enshrine the Mukanfumon of Nanzenji Temple.

その歴史は古く、1380年（康暦2年）に妙心寺2世の授翁宗弼（じゅおうそうひつ）によって築かれました。名前の由来は南朝（大覚寺統）の年号「天授」からきています。

It has a long history and was built in 1380 (2nd year of the Kang calendar) by Juo Sohitsu of Myoshinji II. The origin of the name comes from the year name “Tenji” of the Southern Dynasty (Daikakuji Temple).

access

天授院は、京都市右京区花園妙心寺町36に位置しており、最寄りの駅は妙心寺前（徒歩約3分）や妙心寺北門前（徒歩約5分）です。アクセス路線は以下の通りです。

Tenjuin is located at 36 Hanazono Myoshinji-cho, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto, and the nearest stations are Myoshinji-mae (about a 3-minute walk) and Myoshinji Kitamon-mae (about a 5-minute walk). The access routes are as follows.

京都駅からは26系統（D3乗り場）のバスで北へ。
四条烏丸からは26系統または91系統のバスで北へ。
四条河原町からは10系統のバスで北へ。
河原町丸太町からは10系統または93系統のバスで北へ。
また、JR嵯峨野線を利用する場合は、最寄り駅は花園駅（徒歩約8分）です。嵐電（京福電鉄）北野線を利用する場合は、最寄り駅は妙心寺駅（徒歩約8分）です。

南禅寺の三門を出てすぐ左手に位置するのが「天授院」です。数多い南禅寺塔頭の中でも庭園の美しさが際立っていました。時間に余裕があれば、是非足を運びたいお寺です。

Immediately on the left after exiting the three gates of Nanzenji Temple is “Tenjuin”. Even in the midst of the many Nanzenji pagodas, the beauty of the garden stood out. If you have time to spare, this is a temple that you should definitely visit.

「塔頭(たっちゅう）とは？」調べてみると禅宗寺院で祖師や高僧の死後、弟子たちがその得を慕って建てた小院とある。天授庵も南禅寺塔頭の一つで庭園がとても素晴らしい。

When I looked it up, I found that it was a small temple built by disciples in Zen Buddhist temples after the death of the founder and high priest in honor of their benefits. Tenjoan is also one of the towers of Nanzenji Temple, and the garden is very wonderful.

天授院は通常非公開であり、拝観料金も非公開（500円）です。しかし、この美しい寺院の歴史や庭園を訪れることは、京都観光を楽しむ素晴らしい方法です。周辺には他の寺院もあり、散策する価値があります。

Tenjuin is usually closed to the public, and the admission fee is also private (500 yen). However, visiting the history and gardens of this beautiful temple is a great way to enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto. There are also other temples in the vicinity, which are worth a stroll.
