京都府八幡市にあるお寺で、日蓮宗真門派（にちれんしゅう しんもんは）本隆寺の末寺です。
It is a temple located in Hachiman City, Kyoto Prefecture, and is the last temple of the Nichiren Buddhist Shinmon sect Honryuji Temple.
歴史、👦
history
この寺は安土問答（あづちしゅうろん）と呼ばれる法華宗と浄土宗の宗論で、織田信長が浄土宗を勝ちとし、日門上人（かどかみ しょうにん）はその犠牲となり斬首された場所としても知られています。
It is also known as the place where Oda Nobunaga won the Pure Land sect and the Hidokami Shonin sacrifice and beheading.
また、松花堂昭乗（しょうかどう しょうじょう）を養育した竹内伊予守（たけのうち いよのくに）の寺でもあります。所蔵の雲版（うんぱん）は京都府指定文化財として大切に保管されています。
It is also the temple of Takeuchi Iyonokuni, who raised Shokado Shojo. The cloud plate in the collection is carefully preserved as a designated cultural property of Kyoto Prefecture.

このお寺は、京阪本線「石清水八幡宮」駅から徒歩約10分の場所にあります。訪れる際には、日蓮上人（にちれん しょうにん）像や歴史的な碑などを見学することができます。ぜひ足を運んでみてください 🙏🏻
It is located about a 10-minute walk from Iwashimizu Hachimangu Station on the Keihan Main Line. When you visit, you can see the statue of Nichiren Shonin and historical monuments. Please come and visit us

本妙寺は、開山は鎌倉時代と、400年以上の歴史を持ちます。すぐ背後に「男山」の緑が色濃く取り囲んでいる姿が印象的でした。本堂はなかなかスケールが大きいですが、ユニークなお寺の多い周辺から比較すると、割とオーソドックスな外観だと感じました。
Honmyoji Temple has a history of more than 400 years, dating back to the Kamakura period. It was impressive to see the green of “Otokoyama” surrounded by “Otokoyama” right behind it. The main hall is quite large in scale, but compared to the surrounding area, where there are many unique temples, I felt that it had a relatively orthodox appearance.
門らしきものはなく自由に入って下さいという雰囲気です。織田信長公との逸話が有るらしいのですが、今では想像付きません。背景が「男山」になるので紅葉が素晴らしい時期は絵になるでしょうね。
There is no gate, and the atmosphere is that you can enter freely. There seems to be an anecdote with Oda Nobunaga, but I can’t imagine it now. The background will be “Otokoyama”, so it will be a picture when the autumn leaves are wonderful.
他の宗派の寺院も日蓮宗を真似ていつでも入山出来るようにしておいてほしいものだが・・・往々にして、固く門を閉ざした寺院が多い。ここはいろいろな不幸な縁起も抱合しつつ、表通りからも本堂まで一望出来る位の開放的な綺麗な寺院でした。
I would like temples of other denominations to imitate Nichiren Buddhism and allow people to enter at any time, but many temples have their gates tightly closed. This was a beautiful temple with an open view from the main street to the main hall, while embracing various unfortunate auspiciousness.
