Rakugaki Temple
京都府八幡市にある臨済宗妙心寺派の寺院で、通称「らくがき寺」としても知られています。約200年前、京都妙心寺の単伝和尚が救苦観音を安置したことが由来です。
It is a temple of the Rinzai sect of Myoshinji in Yawata City, Kyoto Prefecture, and is also known as “Rakugaki Temple”. It originated about 200 years ago when Kazuhisa Tanden of Myoshinji Temple in Kyoto enshrined Kannon Kannon.

単伝庵（らくがき寺）👦

このユニークなお寺は、大黒様に願いごとが見えやすいように、壁に願いを書き入れる「落書き祈願」ができる場所として有名です。
This unique temple is famous as a place where you can write your wishes on the wall so that you can easily see your wishes to Daikoku-sama.
大黒堂の内部の白壁には、訪れた人々の願い事が書かれています。壁に字を書くというタブーに正面から挑戦できるので、子どもから大人まで楽しむことができます。
On the white walls inside the Daikokudo Hall, the wishes of the visitors are written. You can challenge the taboo of writing on the wall head-on, so it can be enjoyed by both children and adults.
単伝庵は、京阪本線「石清水八幡宮」駅から徒歩10分で行くことができます。家族でのお出かけに、気軽に足を運ばれてはいかがでしょうか。

石清水八幡宮駅からは徒歩10分ほど、中心部より少し外れた場所にあります。「山門」のようなものはなく、一見普通の住宅のようですが、石柱に「単伝庵」という表示と共に「らくがき寺」の表記もあります。
It is about a 10-minute walk from Iwashimizu Hachimangu Station, a little outside the center. There is no such thing as a “mountain gate”, and at first glance it looks like an ordinary house, but there is also a sign of “Rakugaki Temple” along with the sign “Tandenan” on the stone pillar.
落書き寺という珍しく面白い名前ですよね。願い事など壁に書くところから名前がついたそうです。大黒堂の白い壁に思い思いに皆さんがらくがきをしておかれます。
It’s an unusual and interesting name, isn’t it? It is said that the name came from the place where wishes are written on the wall. Everyone will be drawing on the white wall of Daikokudo.
ただし、らくがきといっても、“○○参上！”とか、“四露死苦”（よろしく）なんて書いてはだめですよ。どうして？さすがにお寺なのでそんなこと書くバチ当たりものはいないようです。みなさん謙虚にお願いごとを書いておられました。
However, even if it is a rakugaki, “○○ Come! You can’t write “Four Dew Death Suffering” (Regards). Why? As expected, it is a temple, so there seems to be no one to write such a thing. Everyone humbly wrote their requests.
そんならくがきを読んで微笑ましく思ったりするのも一興。静かなお寺なのでゆっくりとお参りをすることができます。のんびりとした雰囲気が印象的なお寺でした。
It’s one thing to read such a postcard and think about it. It is a quiet temple, so you can pray slowly. It was a temple with an impressive relaxed atmosphere.
