この神社は、地元民から「剣さん」と親しまれており、東福寺や泉涌寺（せんにゅうじ）の北側、東山の音無川（おとなしがわ）と今熊野川の合流点近くに位置しています。
Affectionately known as “Ken Mr./Ms.” by the locals, it is located on the north side of Tofukuji Temple and Sennyuji Temple, near the confluence of the Otonashigawa River and the Imakumano River in Higashiyama.

剣神社は伊邪那岐命（いざなぎ-の-みこと）、邇邇芸命（ににぎ-の-みこと）、白山姫命（くくりひめ-の-みこと）を祭っており、特に子供の疳虫（くつわ‐むし）封じ祈願で知られています。
Tsurugi Shrine is dedicated to Izanagi, Nigi, and Hakusan Hime, and is especially known for praying for the protection of children’s worms.
祭事には鏡（かがみ）開きや御弓始（おゆみ-はじめ）祭、剣徳講々社（とっこう-こうしゃ）祭などがあります。
Festivals include the opening of the mirror, the Oyumi Hajime Festival, and the Kentoku Kosha Festival.
アクセスは市バス「泉涌寺（せんにゅうじ）」または「今熊野（いまくまの）」から徒歩約5分です。
Access is about a 5-minute walk from the city bus “Sennyuji” or “Imakumano”.
詳細な創建由緒は不明ですが、中世には泉涌寺（せんにゅうじ）の守り神とされていたと言われています。京都に行かれる際は、ぜひ訪れてみてくださいね！🌸
The detailed history of its founding is unknown, but it is said that it was considered the guardian deity of Sennyuji Temple in the Middle Ages. When you go to Kyoto, be sure to visit it!

結構、有名な神社で、ご朱印集めが流行ってからは訪れる人も結構多くなっているようですよ。人気がありますよ。観光客からもわりと人気があって、土日なんかはわりと人がいます。
It is quite a famous shrine, and it seems that the number of visitors has increased quite a bit since the collection of red seals became popular. It’s popular. It is rather popular with tourists, and there are quite a few people on Saturdays and Sundays.
バスが走る道路から少し坂を上ります。今熊野一帯の産土神（うぶすながみ）という話もある神社ですね。季節的なことも有るかもしれませんが、涼しい風も流れてきて心静かに参拝出来ました。
Go up a little hill from the road where the bus runs. It is a shrine that is said to be the god of birth in the Kumano area. It may be seasonal, but the cool breeze flowed and I was able to visit quietly.
今熊野一帯の産土神（うぶすながみ）さまで、子供の疳虫（くつわ‐むし）封じ祈願で知られているそうです。偶然通りがかったのですが、綺麗に掃除されており、穴場的な神社のように感じました。以前はこの近隣の泉涌寺（せんにゅうじ）の守り神だったそうです。
It is said that even the god of birth in the Kumano area is known for praying for the protection of children’s worms. I happened to pass by, but it was cleaned, and I felt like a hole-in-the-wall shrine. It used to be the guardian deity of this nearby Sennyuji Temple.
