It is a shrine located in Imakumano Tsubanomori-cho, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto.
熊野信仰の盛んな平安時代末期、永暦（ようりゃく）元年（1160年）に後白河（ご-しらかわ）法皇によって創建されました。
It was founded by Pope Go-Shirakawa in the first year of Yoryaku (1160) at the end of the Heian period, when the Kumano faith was thriving.

新熊野神社（いまくまのじんじゃ）は能楽発祥の地としても有名で、1374年（応安7年）に観阿弥・世阿弥が足利義満の前で「猿楽（さるごう）」を演能したことでも知られています。
Shinkumano Shrine is also famous as the birthplace of Noh theater, and is also known for the performance of “Sarugo” in front of Ashikaga Yoshimitsu in 1374 (Oan 7).
本殿は1673年に聖護院道寛法親王（しょうごいん-の-みや どうかんほうしんのう）によって再建され、京都市指定有形文化財に指定されています。ぜひ訪れてみてください！
The main shrine was rebuilt in 1673 by Prince Shogoin Dokanhō and is designated as a Tangible Cultural Property of Kyoto City. Be sure to visit it!

新熊野神社は「いまくまのじんじゃ」と読みます。普通は読めないですが、熊野の昔からある神社に対して京都は新しい熊野で、今あるからということらしいです。
Shinkumano Shrine reads “Imakuma no Jinja”. I can’t usually read it, but it seems that Kyoto is a new Kumano and it is because it is there now, as opposed to the old shrines in Kumano.
八咫烏（やたがらす）の御朱印で有名な神社。大通りに面していますが境内は人は少なかったです。御朱印を頂くときに八咫烏（やたがらす）のいわれを説明してくれました。
A shrine famous for the red seal of Yatagarasu. Although it faces the main street, there were few people in the precincts. When I received the red seal, he explained the meaning of the Yatagarasu.
お腹守護というのがあります。なかなか御利益あります。手術、病弱、色々とよいみたいで、お腹の弱い人は楠の木のお守りがよいそうです。
There is such a thing as stomach protection. It’s quite profitable. It seems that surgery, sickness, and various things are good, and it seems that people with weak stomachs are good for the amulet of the chestnut tree.
ご神木の楠の木は立派ですし、このあたりが一番よいエネルギーがあるように感じます。本殿の鈴の音色がキレイです。
The Kusunoki tree of the sacred tree is magnificent, and I feel that this area has the best energy. The sound of the bells in the main shrine is beautiful.
