橋殿（はし-どの）は、御手洗川（みたらし-かわ）の上に建てられており、5月12日の「御蔭祭」（みかげまつり）の際に御神宝（ごしん‐ぽう）を奉安する御殿（ごてん）として使用されます。
Hashi-dono is built on the Mitarashi-Kawa River and is used as a palace to enshrine the sacred treasure on the occasion of the Mikage Festival on May 12.
また、9月の「名月管絃（めいげつ-かんげん）祭」や正月の神事などでも神事芸能が奉納される場所です。
It is a place where Shinto performing arts are also dedicated at the “Meigetsu-Kangen Festival” in September and New Year’s rituals.
この建物は、江戸時代前期の1628年（寛永5年）頃に造営され、その後も定期的に修理が行われています。1901年（明治34年）には国の重要文化財に指定されました。
It was built around 1628 (Kanei 5) in the early Edo period, and has been regularly repaired since then. In 1901 (Meiji 34), it was designated as an important cultural property of Japan.
下鴨神社に訪れる際には、ぜひ橋殿（はし-どの）も見学してみてくださいね。
