既成院（きじょういん）は、京都市東山区林下町にある浄土宗の寺院であり、知恩院の塔頭（たっちょう）の一つです。この寺院は、知恩院の三門と黒門の間の向かいに立っています。

Kijoin-in is a Jodo temple located in Hayashishita-cho, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, and is one of the temples of Chion-in. This temple stands across the street between the three gates and the black gate of Chion-in.

山号は光明山（こうみょうせん）で、本尊は阿弥陀如来です。毎年10月に行われる「二十五菩薩 練供養（ねりくよう）」の行事で知られ、境内には那須与一（なすのよいち）の墓があることから「那須の与一さん」の通称でも知られています。

Sanngou is Komyōsen, and the main Buddha is Amitabha. It is known for the “Twenty-Five Bodhisattvas Nerikuyo” event held every October, and is also known as “Nasu no Yoichi” because there is a tomb of Nasu Yoichi in the temple grounds.

既成院（きじょういん）は、明治時代以降は泉涌寺（せんにゅうじ）山内にあるが、創建当初は伏見桃山（現・伏見区桃山）にあったとされています。

Since the Meiji era, Kijoin has been located in Sennyuji Yamauchi, but it is said that it was originally located in Fushimi Momoyama (now Momoyama, Fushimi-ku).

近世の地誌には、正暦3年（992年）、恵心僧都源信（えしんそうず げんしん）によって建立された光明院を始まりとするとあるが、これは伝承の域を出ないものです。実際の創立者は、藤原頼通（ふじわら の よりみち）の子で歌人、風流人として知られる伏見長者 橘俊綱（たちばな の としつな）と考えられています。

According to the topographical records of the early modern period, it began in the 3rd year of the New Year (992) with the Komyo-in Temple, which was built by Genshin, but this is beyond the realm of tradition. The actual founder is believed to be the Fushimi Choja Tachibana, a son of Fujiwara no Yorimichi and known as a poet and furyujin.

浄土宗寺院でありやはり閉鎖的で門扉も固く閉じられています。市内全域で余程の観光寺でもない限りはこの宗派の寺院はこういうスタイルのところが多い。

It is a Pure Land temple, and it is also closed and the gate is tightly closed. Unless it is a tourist temple in the whole city, many of the temples of this Shu sect are in this style.

何故なんでしょうね？他のある宗派の寺院はむしろ山門を閉じているところの方が少ないと云う、開放的で敷居が低い寺院が多いのに・・・。

Why? The temples of other denominations are rather closed to the mountain gates, even though there are many temples that are open and have a low threshold.

その上、寺院駒札（こまふだ）も殆どで立てられていない、そんなに歴史や縁起が無い訳ではないでしょうに・・・どうしてでしょうね。ここは総本山知恩院からほんの少し離れた場所の塔頭（たっちょう）寺院です。

Most of the temples have not been built, so it is not that there is not so much history and auspiciousness, but I don’t know why. This is a temple located just a short distance from Sohonzan Chion-in.
