臨池亭（りんちてい）＋滴翠軒（てきすいけん）は、京都市下京区東玉水町にある渉成園の一部です。渉成園は東本願寺の飛地境内地にある庭園で、四季折々の花が咲き誇り、変化に富んだ景観が特徴です。
Rinchi-tei + Tekisuiken is part of Shosei-en Garden in Higashi-Tamamizu-cho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto. Shoseien Garden is a garden located in the precincts of Higashi Honganji Temple, and is characterized by a variety of landscapes with flowers blooming in all four seasons.
臨池亭（りんちてい）は池に面して建てられた建物で、その名前も「池を臨む亭」という意味です。滴翠軒（てきすいけん）は、裏の築山から池に流れ込む小水にちなんで「小川のほとりの軒」という意味があります。どちらの建物も、外観や畳の部屋には目立った装飾がなく、控えめな造りになっています。
Rinchi-tei is a building built facing the pond, and its name means “pavilion overlooking the pond”. Tekisuiken means “eaves on the bank of a stream” after the small water that flows into the pond from the mountain behind the building. Both buildings have a modest structure, with no noticeable decoration on the exterior or tatami rooms.
これらの建物は、東本願寺を訪れた客人のための茶会や接待に使われてきました。1864年の火災で失われましたが、1884年に再建されました。
These buildings have been used for tea ceremonies and entertainment for guests who visited Higashi Honganji. It was lost in a fire in 1864, but was rebuilt in 1884.
