別所琴平神社は、1875年（明治8年）、郷社に列せられ、古平郡の鎮守となりました。1867年（慶応3年）には仮社殿を建設し、1871年（明治4年）には神明造の神殿入母屋造の拝殿を造営しました。
Bessho Kotohira Shrine was placed in the gōsha in 1875 (Meiji 8) and became the guardian of Furuhira District. In 1867 (Keio 3), a temporary shrine was built, and in 1871 (Meiji 4), a worship hall was built in the main house of the Shinmei-zukuri temple.
「十日参りのこんぴらさん」として親しまれる神社です。素敵なお守りが沢山ありました。海の神、山の神を表すと言われる河童様と天狗様の大きなお面が印象的でした。
It is a shrine that is popularly known as “Konpira-san of the Ten-day Visit”. There were many wonderful amulets. The large masks of Kappa and Tengu, which are said to represent the gods of the sea and the mountains, were impressive.
大物主大神様をお祀りしており、毎月10日に大物主大神様に御参りすると、特別霊妙な功徳を授かると言われています。
It enshrines the great lord Okami, and it is said that if you visit the big lord Okami on the 10th of every month, you will receive a special spiritual merit.
