八重洲口の周辺について、探偵1日料金を３時間調査39.800円（当社料金）と仮定して調査してきましたのでご報告します。八重洲口付近では、日本最大級となる予定の「バスターミナル東京八重洲」の整備計画が進行中。

そんな八重洲口ですが、かつては駅舎が設けられず、設置後もしばらくは「裏口」という扱いでした。

東京駅が開業したのは、1914年のこと。丸の内のレンガ駅舎はこの際に建設されたものですが、当時八重洲側には出入口は設置されませんでした。

現在の八重洲口には、駅前に都道405号線「外堀通り」が通っていますが、この道路はかつての「外濠川」を埋め立てたもの。

加えて、現在も同じですが、日本橋や銀座は八重洲口の徒歩圏内。八重洲側の街は閑散としていたわけではありませんでした。

名称の由来、👦
Origin of the name,
八重洲という地名は、江戸時代初期に来日したオランダ人のヤン・ヨーステンが屋敷を構えたことが由来です。
The name Yaesu comes from the fact that Jan Joosten, a Dutchman who came to Japan in the early Edo period, set up a mansion.
しかし、行政区分の地名に八重洲という名前が使われるようになったのは、1954年のこと。
However, it was not until 1954 that the name Yaesu came to be used as a place name for administrative divisions.
地名こそ歴史がありますが、地図上で見られるようになったのは、比較的最近のことです。
Place names have a long history, but they have only recently been seen on maps.
