相鉄線は、1917年に相模鉄道株式会社と神中鉄道株式会社が創立され、現在の相鉄線の元になる厚木〜横浜間の線路が全線開通しました。
The Sotetsu Line was founded in 1917 by Sagami Railway Co., Ltd. and Jinchu Railway Co., Ltd., and the entire line between Atsugi and Yokohama, which is the basis of the current Sotetsu Line, was opened.
1943年に相模鉄道株式会社が神中鉄道株式会社を吸収合併し、相鉄は2線を合わせ61.8kmの線路を持つ鉄道会社になりました。
