「京都御所」の周辺を公園化された庭園のような広大な公園ですが、とにかく歩きにくいので、スニーカーじゃないとかなり疲れます。平日の日中に一周しましたが、地元の方が犬の散歩などをされていて、堅苦しい感じは全くありませんでした。
It is a vast park that looks like a garden that has been turned into a park around “Kyoto Gosho”, but it is difficult to walk anyway, so it is quite tiring if you are not wearing sneakers. I went around during the day on a weekday, but the locals were walking their dogs, so I didn’t feel formal at all.
京都御所をはじめ、仙洞御所、大宮御所を含む公園で、東西は約700m、南北は1.3kmにも及びます。玉砂利に芝生と樹木の公園は、市民の憩いの場となっています。東京に遷都されるまで、この敷地内には皇族や公家の邸宅が立ち並んでいたことを思うと少し不思議な感じがします。
It is a park that includes Kyoto Gosho, Sento Gosho, and Omiya Gosho, and is about 700 meters from east to west and 1.3 km from north to south.
The park, which is made of gravel, lawns and trees, is a place of relaxation for citizens. It’s a little strange to think that until the capital was moved to Tokyo, the grounds were lined with the residences of the imperial family and the royal family.
