この寺院は平安時代に造られた国宝の仏像を敬めるお堂として知られています。さながら『仏像の森』に迷い込んだような雰囲気で、躯の観音像が並ぶ堂内は見どころの一つです。

残念ながら本堂内は撮影禁止、中央の本尊千手観音座像を中心に左右長い階段状に五百体【１００体×５０体】の仏像と千手観音座像の背後のもう一体で、合計１００１体が並ぶ、本堂の内側柱間が三十三あることから呼ばれ、外からは３５本の柱が見える。
Unfortunately, photography is prohibited inside the main hall, and there are 500 Buddha statues [100 × 50] in a long staircase centered on the main statue of the main temple and another one behind the statue of the 1000 hands Kannon, for a total of 1001 figures, so it is called because there are 33 inner pillars of the main hall, and 35 pillars can be seen from the outside.

何度行っても圧倒される。さらに薄暗い場所なので、なんとも言えない雰囲気がある。順路を辿って行くと最後にお土産を買う場所がこじんまりとおる。毎回なぜかご利益を求めて大量に購入してしまう(笑)
