神宮丸太町駅は、1989年10月5日に京阪電気鉄道鴨東線が開通した際に、丸太町駅として開業しました。開業当初から急行停車駅となり、2008年10月19日に現在の名称である神宮丸太町駅に改称されました。

Jingu Marutamachi Station was opened as Marutamachi Station on October 5, 1989 when the Keihan Electric Railway’s Kamoto Line opened. From the beginning of its opening, it became an express stop station, and on October 19, 2008, it was renamed to its current name, Jingu Marutamachi Station.

観光地だけあって、交通の便は非常に良い。電車は早朝から夜遅く(0時台)まで走っており、本数も多いです。悪天候でも滅多に遅延せず、大阪など各地方面へ出る場合にも利用しやすかったです。

バスはシーズンになると混み合い、遅延することが多かったです。バスがもうすぐ来るかなどの表示はわかりやすいですが、同じ出発駅でも行先によりバス停の位置が様々で、観光客に尋ねられることもよくありました。

Buses were crowded during the season and were often delayed. It is easy to understand the indication that the bus is coming soon, but even at the same departure station, the location of the bus stop varies depending on the destination, and tourists often ask about it.

これまでは降りる際の支払いで時間がかかっていた印象でしたが、ICカードが導入されたのでスムーズに乗り降りができます。

Until now, I had the impression that it took a long time to pay when I got off, but now that IC cards have been introduced, you can get on and off smoothly.

神宮丸太町にもいろいろたべに行くところがありますが、歩いて8分ほどの京都市役所前や、10分の三条にはもっとたくさんあります。

There are many places to go to eat in Jingu Marutamachi, but there are many more in front of Kyoto City Hall, which is about an 8-minute walk away, and in Sanjo, which is 10 minutes away.

京都御所があるため、治安は非常に良い。頻繁に、パトロールや、警備にあたっている警官を見かける。商店街から少し離れると静かな住宅街になります。
