神宮丸太町駅で下りたので。堺町御門より御苑の方へ徒歩約20分。御苑内は砂利道で幅20ｍ。近所の人は自転車でスイスイ走っておられました。良いなぁ～と。
I got off at Jingu Marutamachi Station. It takes about 20 minutes on foot from the Sakaimachi Mikado to the Imperial Garden. The garden is a gravel road with a width of 20 m. My neighbor was riding a bicycle. It’s good ~.
広い苑内は新緑が進んでいて既に緑がキレイな木も沢山ありました。苑内にはベンチが沢山ありますが、お昼休みの時間になると近くにお勤めの方々が座ってお弁当を食べる姿が見られ、市民の憩いの場になっているんだなと実感します。西側にある九條池の畔に旧九條家の茶室が残っていて、とてもいい雰囲気です。
In the large garden, fresh greenery was progressing, and there were many trees that were already beautiful. There are many benches in the garden, but during the lunch break, you can see people who work nearby sitting and eating lunch, and I feel that it has become a place of relaxation for the citizens. On the shore of the Kujo Pond on the west side, there is still a tea room of the former Kujo family, and it has a very nice atmosphere.
御所を中心とする京都御苑は、皇居外苑、新宿御苑と並ぶ国民公園の一つ。御所を取り囲む広大な敷地には明治維新まで約140軒の公家屋敷が建つ公家町だったという。その後、整備されて現在に至るが、公家邸宅跡が源氏物語の舞台を空想できるロマンチックな場所。
Kyoto Gyoen, which is centered on the Imperial Palace, is one of the national parks along with the Imperial Palace Gaien and Shinjuku Gyoen. It is said that the vast site surrounding the Imperial Palace was a public house town with about 140 public residences until the Meiji Restoration. After that, it was developed and continues to the present, but the ruins of the official residence are a romantic place where you can fantasize about the setting of The Tale of Genji.
植物も多い。梅、桃、桜は見栄えが良好。九門五口の出入口があり、出入自由。駐車場も烏丸、寺町側に備えている。砂利を踏みしめる音をたてながらの散策は気持ちがいい時間になります。
There are also many plants. Plums, peaches and cherry blossoms look great. There are nine gates and five entrances and exits, and you can enter and exit freely. There is also a parking lot on the Karasuma and Teramachi sides. It is a pleasant time to take a walk while making the sound of stepping on gravel.
大都市の真ん中に大きな公園があるだけでも、京都がうらやましい。春先に訪れたのでゆっくり散策できました。夏はちょっとキツイかも。
Even if there is only a large park in the middle of a big city, Kyoto is enviable. I visited in early spring, so I was able to take a leisurely stroll. It can be a little tough in the summer.
