雪舟寺（せっしゅうじ）は臨済宗（りんざい-しゅう）の寺院で、雪舟（せっしゅう）が作庭した日本庭園があります。
Sesshuji Temple is a temple of the Rinzai sect, and there is a Japan garden created by Sesshu.
この庭園は蓬莱（ほうらい）式と呼ばれ、京都で最も古い歴史を持つ枯山水（かれさんすい）庭園です。芬陀院（ふんだ-いん）とも呼ばれています。
This garden is called Horai Shiki and is the oldest Mr./Ms. Sui garden in Kyoto. It is also called Funda-in.
庭園の美しさや雪舟（せっしゅう）の作庭に触れることで、日本の伝統文化を感じることができるでしょう。

東福寺を巡った後、本堂があるあたりからＪＲ東福寺駅へと向かって西へと向かっているとの左手にあったのが、こちらのお寺、芬陀院（ふんだ-いん）雪舟寺（せっしゅうじ）です。
After visiting Tofukuji Temple, I was heading west from the area where the main hall is located to JR Tofukuji Station, and on the left was this temple, Funda-in Sesshuji Temple.
「雪舟寺（せっしゅうじ）」という名前からもわかるとおり、あの水墨画で有名な雪舟（せっしゅう）が関わったいたお寺なんです。
As you can see from the name “Sesshuji”, it is a temple that Sesshu, who is famous for his ink paintings, was involved in.
このお寺の庭園を造ったのが、雪舟（せっしゅう）だと言われているようです。緑豊かなこけの感じと白砂が美しい庭園でした。
