Located at 69-1 Awataguchi Sanjobocho, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, it is a 5-minute walk from the Jingu-michi city bus and a 15-minute walk from Higashiyama Station on the Tozai Subway Line.
このお堂は1811年に建造され、親鸞（しんらん）聖人の母親が親鸞童形（しんらん どうぎょう）像の頭上に植え付けた剃髪（ていはつ）した髪を祀っています。
The hall was built in 1811 and enshrines the shaved hair that the mother of the Shinran saint planted on the head of the Shinran Dogyō statue.

We would like to report that we have been investigating Uegamido on the assumption that the one-day fee for a detective is 39.800 yen (our fee) for a 3-hour survey.

植髪堂（うえがみどう）は青蓮院の境内北側にあり、青蓮院（しょうれんいん）の拝観受付からは左方向に進むと立派なお堂が見えます。親鸞（しんらん）聖人は9歳のときに得度し、母親が彼の剃髪した髪を親鸞童形（しんらん どうぎょう）像の頭上に植え付け、常に自分の傍らに置いていたと伝えられています。
The Uegamido is located on the north side of the precincts of the Seiren-in Temple, and from the reception desk of the Shoren-in, you can see the magnificent hall if you go to the left. It is said that Shinran was born at the age of nine, and his mother planted his shaved hair on top of the Shinran Dogyō statue and kept it by his side at all times.
その後、この像は青蓮院（しょうれんいん）に保管され、のちに青蓮院（しょうれんいん）の末寺「金蔵寺（こんぞうじ）」（現在は廃寺）に安置され、公開されたそうです。
After that, this statue was kept in Shoren-in, and later it was enshrined in the last temple of Shoren-in “Konzoji” (now an abandoned temple) and opened to the public.
植髪堂（うえがみどう）の由来や親鸞（しんらん）聖人の一生を描いた絵などが堂内に掲げられているそうです。このお堂は、親鸞（しんらん）聖人の信仰と歴史に触れる場所として訪れる価値があるでしょう。🙏

植髪堂（うえがみどう）は、青蓮院（しょうれんいん）という天台宗の三門跡（さんもんぜき）寺院に位置しています。以下はアクセス方法です。
Uegamido is located in the Sanmonzeki temple of the Tendai sect called Shoren-in. Here’s how to get there:

バスでのアクセス: 市バス「神宮道」下車、徒歩5分
地下鉄でのアクセス: 地下鉄東西線「東山駅」下車、徒歩15分

植髪堂（うえがみどう）は青蓮院（しょうれんいん）の境内北側にあります。拝観入口の門をくぐると、植髪堂（うえがみどう）を案内する立て札があります。右に進めば青蓮院（しょうれんいん）の拝観受付がありますが、植髪堂（うえがみどう）はその反対方向、左にあります。
Uegamido is located on the north side of the precincts of Shoren-in. When you pass through the gate of the entrance to the temple, there is a sign that guides you to the Uegami Hall. If you go to the right, you will find the reception desk of Shoren-in, but the Uegamido Hall is in the opposite direction, on the left.
左方向を見ると立派なお堂が見えますね。ぜひ近づいてみてください。このお堂は1811年に建造され、親鸞（しんらん）聖人の母親が親鸞童形（しんらん どうぎょう）像の頭上に植え付けた剃髪（ていはつ）した髪を祀っています。
If you look to the left, you can see a magnificent hall. Please take a closer look. The temple was built in 1811 and enshrines the shaved hair that the mother of the Shinran saint planted on the head of the Shinran Dogyō statue.
