また、琵琶湖疏水船という船もあり、この船で琵琶湖疏水を楽しむことができます。春のシーズンには、桜並木や新緑の青もみじを眺めながら、びわ湖遊覧と大津閘門での水位調整を楽しむことができます。ふるさと納税による乗船も可能で、京都市と大津市のふるさと納税が対象となっています。

琵琶湖から京都へ水を導く疏水は京都市内をあちこちに流れてます。また、銀閣寺前の哲学の道も疏水に沿って造られているそうです。実際に歩いてみましたが、建設にあたった先人の苦労が思い起こされました。

The sosuite that leads the water from Lake Biwa to Kyoto flows here and there in the city of Kyoto. In addition, it is said that the philosophical path in front of Ginkakuji Temple is also built along the sosui. I actually walked through it, and I was reminded of the hardships of our predecessors who worked on the construction.

琵琶湖疏水は琵琶湖の水を京都へ引き入れるために明治時代に造られています。数年前から琵琶湖疏水を通る船が復活したので、観光の足に使えるかもしれませんね。水路の周辺には桜が多く植えられているので春は最適の観光スポットになります。

Biwako Sosui was built in the Meiji era to bring water from Lake Biwa to Kyoto. A few years ago, the boats that pass through Biwako Sosui have been revived, so you may be able to use it for sightseeing. There are many cherry trees planted around the waterway, so it is the best tourist spot in spring.

京都市全体に水を引き、電気を起こし、経済発展を促した琵琶湖疏水。施設全てを訪れるには広大で難しいけれど、疎水記念館と運搬船を線路に乗せて陸送したインクラインの史跡を訪れれば全容が解って楽しいです。

It draws water to the entire city of Kyoto, generates electricity, and promotes economic development. It is difficult to visit all the facilities because they are vast, but it is fun to understand the whole picture by visiting the Sosui Memorial Hall and the historical site of the incline, where the carrier was transported by land on the railroad tracks.
