京都市東山区泉桶寺山内町にある真言宗泉涌寺派の寺院です。
この寺は総本山である泉涌寺（せんにゅじ）の塔頭（たっちゅう）であり、本尊は不空羂索観音（ふくうけんさく-かんのん）です。洛陽（らくよう）三十三所観音霊場の第25番札所としても知られています。
It is the head of the tower of Sennyuji Temple, and the main temple is Fuku Kensaku Kannon. It is also known as the 25th shrine of the Rakuyo Thirty-Three Kannon Shrines.

鎌倉時代末の嘉暦（かりゃく）元年（1326年）に無人如導（むにん-にょどう）によって創建されましたが、応仁の乱により荒廃しました。その後、江戸時代に再建され、本多正貫（ほんだ-まさつら）の子孫である本多家の京都における菩提寺（ぼだいじ）となりました。
It was founded in 1326 at the end of the Kamakura period, but was devastated by the Onin War. Later, it was rebuilt during the Edo period and became a Bodaiji temple in Kyoto of the Honda family, a descendant of Honda Masatsura.
境内（けいだい）には徳川家康に仕えた父、本多正重（ほんだ-まさしげ）の石碑があります。法音院（ほうおん-いん）は、京都観光の名所めぐりにも含まれています。
In the temple grounds, there is a stone monument of Honda Masashige, a father who served Tokugawa Ieyasu. Hoon-in is also included in the sightseeing tours of Kyoto.

Access is about a 10-minute walk from the Sennyuji-do bus stop of the Kyoto Municipal Bus4. When you visit, be sure to enjoy the beautiful scenery and historical background!

泉涌寺（せんにゅじ）の参道をしばらく上って来ると、左手に最初のお寺である即成院（そくじょう-いん）があり、その少し上の右手に、こちらの法音院（ほうおん-いん）がありました。さすがに京都のお寺はどこも歴史を感じます。
After going up the approach to Sennyuji Temple for a while, there was the first temple, Sokujo-in, on the left, and this Hoon-in on the right, a little above that. As expected, all the temples in Kyoto have a sense of history.
このお寺も泉涌寺（せんにゅじ）の塔頭（たっちゅう）ですが、境内にはいくつかのお堂が建っていて、「三社明神（さんじゃ-みょうじん）」と書かれた小さな社もありました。その社の横には、「神鹿（しんろく）」の象もありましたよ。
There were several halls in the temple grounds, and there was also a small shrine with the inscription “Sanjya-myojin”. Next to the shrine, there was also an elephant of a “god deer”.
泉涌寺（せんにゅじ）の塔頭（たっちゅう）で、山門を入ったところにあります。洛陽（らくよう）三十三所観音の第25番と泉涌寺（せんにゅじ）の七福神（しち-ふくじん）の寿老人堂（じゅろうじん-どう）でもあります。
It is located at the top of the tower of Sennyuji Temple, just inside the mountain gate. It is also the 25th of the 33 Kannon in Luoyang and the Jurojin Hall of the Seven Lucky Gods of Sennchuji Temple.
門を入ってすぐに寿老人堂（じゅろうじん-どう）があり、拝むことができます。御朱印（ごしゅいん）は境内（けいだい）の授与所（じゅよしょ）でいただけます。
As soon as you enter the gate, there is a jurojin-do, where you can worship. You can get the red seal at the award office in the temple grounds.
