応永11年（1404年）に大信正及（だいしん-しょうきゅう）和尚によって開創され、615年以上の歴史を持っています。
It was founded in the 11th year of Onei (1404) by Daishin Masanori Kazuhisa and has a history of more than 615 years.
本堂は元和元年（1618年）に全焼した後、元禄4年（1691年）に再建され、300年以上が経過しています。また、寺宝として後桃園天皇（ごももぞの-てんのう）の勅額（ちょく‐がく）や済仁親王（さいにんにゅうどう-しんのう）筆の金文字の編額（へんがく）などが保管されており、観音堂には縁結び観音（千手観音）が祀られています。
The main hall burned down in the first year of Genwa (1618) and was rebuilt in the 4th year of Genroku (1691), and more than 300 years have passed. In addition, as temple treasures, the royal plaque of Emperor Go-Taozono and the gold letter plaque of Prince Sainin are kept, and the matchmaking Kannon (thousand-handed Kannon) is enshrined in the Kannon Hall.
