正式名称は卍天照山 光明院 念佛寺で、本尊は阿弥陀如来（あみだにょらい）です。

この寺は電子御朱印を取得できる場所でもあります。最寄りの駅はケーブル八幡宮山上駅から徒歩約7分、または石清水八幡宮駅から徒歩約9分です。

It is also a place where you can get an electronic red seal. The nearest station is about a 7-minute walk from Cable Hachimangu Sanjo Station or a 9-minute walk from Iwashimizu Hachimangu Station.

周辺には他の寺院もあり、観光スポットとして訪れる価値があります。

整然としたお寺で本堂ももちろん再建のもので比較的新しく感じる。境内もきれいに整備されており、全体としてこじんまりはしているもののここも典型的なお寺。名前からしてもすぐ浄土宗とわかるようなわかりやすい名前。　

It is an orderly temple, and of course the main hall is rebuilt and feels relatively new. The precincts are also beautifully maintained, and although it is small as a whole, this is also a typical temple. It is an easy-to-understand name that can be easily recognized as the Pure Land sect from the name.　

しかし駒札を読んでみると八幡市の指定文化財があることを知る。平安後期の作と言うからなかなかのものだろう。保存状態によってはあるいは詳細が分かっていれば重要文化財になる可能性だってある。

However, when I read the Komafuda, I learned that there is a designated cultural property of Yawata City. It is said to be a work of the late Heian period, so it must be quite good. Depending on the state of preservation, or if the details are known, it may become an important cultural property.

ここでもお寺の方に会うことなくただ撮影するだけだった。もし会うことができれば仏様を拝観させていただけますか、とお願いすることができるのだが・・・今までも時々だが何の予約もなしに、たまたまおられた御住職やあるいはその奥様にお話をして拝観させてもらったこともある。

I didn’t meet the people at the temple, I just took pictures. If I could meet him, I would be able to ask him if I would be allowed to see the Buddha, but I have sometimes talked to the priest or his wife who happened to be there without any reservation.

あるお寺では国宝の仏像の拝観どころか、ダメ元で撮影させてもらってもいいでしょうか、と尋ねたところ、一枚だけならということで撮らせてもらったこともある。でも嬉しさのあまり手ブレすると言う大失態。

At one temple, I asked if I could take a picture of a Buddha statue that is a national treasure, let alone take a picture, and I was allowed to take a picture if it was just one of them. But I made a big blunder that I was so happy that my hands were shaking.

何にしろ国宝であれ市の指定文化財であれ、指定されているものはそのぶんの価値が認められてるということで、そのことを知るとどうしても見たいという欲求に駆られてしまうが、小さなお寺ではなかなかそういう機会はない。一般公開の日が設定されれば是非見てみたいものだと思う。

In any case, whether it is a national treasure or a city-designated cultural property, the value of the designated thing is recognized for its value, and when you know that, you will inevitably want to see it, but there are not many opportunities to do so in small temples. If there is a public opening day, I think it will be a good idea to see it.
