京都の街を疫病から守る祇園さん、八坂神社です。祇園祭は京の街を疫病から救うために始まった歴史を持つ八坂神社の祭典です。正門は東大路の西門ではなく、清水寺側の南門です。
Mr./Ms. Gion, who protects the city of Kyoto from the plague, is Yasaka Shrine. The Gion Festival is a festival of Yasaka Shrine with a history that began to save the city of Kyoto from the plague. The main gate is not the west gate of Higashioji, but the south gate on the Kiyomizu-dera side.
京都の歴史がぎゅっとつまった神社で、境内にたくさんの摂社（せっしゃ）、末社（まっしゃ）があるので、小銭は必須。祇園祭の期間中に行くとご神事を味わえるし、週末は神前結婚式があったりして、けっこう神秘的な感動を味わえたりします。円山公園の方に行って、のんびりした時間を過ごすのも良いです。
It is a shrine packed with the history of Kyoto, and there are Mr./Ms.’s Setsha and Suesha shrines in the precincts, so coins are a must. If you go during the Gion Festival, you can enjoy the Shinto rituals, and on the weekends, there are Shinto weddings, so you can experience quite a mysterious impression. 地下鉄上がるとそう遠くない神社でアクセス良いと思います。長居はしていませんが、まさに都会にマッチしたように思います。帰りに鴨川で休憩して京都の雰囲気に浸りました。機会があれば、また行ってみたいです。
If you go up the subway, I think it is good to access at the shrine not far away. I haven’t stayed there for a long time, but I think it fits the city perfectly. On the way back, we took a break at the Kamo River and immersed ourselves in the atmosphere of Kyoto. If I have the chance, I would like to go again.
