Nene-no-michi
ねねの道は高台寺の西側、東山の円山公園から清水寺方面へと抜ける全長約250メートルの美しい石畳の道です。
Nene-no-michi is a beautiful cobblestone road with a total length of about 250 meters that runs from Maruyama Park in Higashiyama, on the west side of Kodaiji Temple, toward Kiyomizu-dera.
豊臣秀吉の正室ねね（北政所）がこの地で余生を送っていたことから「ねねの道」と名付けられました。
Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s main office Nene (Kita Seisho) spent the rest of his life in this area, so it was named “Nene-no-michi”.
電線は地中に敷かれ、古都京都の風情が存分に感じられるよう配慮されています。四季折々の美しい自然も楽しめる絶好の散策スポットです。
The electric wires are laid in the ground, so that you can fully feel the atmosphere of the ancient capital of Kyoto. It is a great strolling spot where you can enjoy the beautiful nature of the four seasons.
人力車もおすすめ

ねねの道には京都嵐山に本店を置く「えびす屋」の人力車がたくさん並んでいます。人力車を曳くのは俥夫（しゃふ）と呼ばれる体力も観光の知識も供えた人々です。
On Nene’s road, there are Mr./Ms. rickshaws of “Ebisuya”, which has its main store in Arashiyama, Kyoto. The rickshaws are pulled by people called shafu, who have both physical strength and knowledge of tourism.
京都の東山界隈（かいわい）では元気いっぱいの笑顔で観光客を人力車で案内する俥夫（しゃふ）さんの姿が多く見受けられます。
In Kyoto’s Higashiyama neighborhood, Mr./Ms. can be seen guiding tourists in rickshaws with a cheerful smile.
高台寺
Kodaiji Temple
ねねの道の散策には外せない京都屈指の人気観光スポットです。ねね（北政所）が慶長11年（1606年）に豊臣秀吉の菩提を弔うために建てた寺院です。
It is one of Kyoto’s most popular sightseeing spots that cannot be missed for a stroll along Nene-no-michi. It is a temple built by Nene (Kita Seisho) in the 11th year of Keicho (1606) to mourn the bodhi of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
内部には豪華絢爛な蒔絵（まきえ）が施されている「霊屋」や桃山時代の建築物でねねが使っていた御所車の天井部分が使用されている開山堂（かいさんどう）、庭園など見どころが多数あります。
Inside, there are many attractions such as the “Reiya” with gorgeous maki-e, the Kaizan-do hall where the ceiling of the Gosho car used by Nene in the Momoyama period Mr./Ms. used in the building of the Momoyama period, and the garden.
