彦九郎は、多年にわたる日記を残しており、吉田松陰はじめ、幕末の志士と呼ばれる人々に多くの影響を与えた人物であるとされています。また、二宮尊徳や楠木正成と並んで戦前の修身教育で取り上げられた人物である彦九郎は、京都市東山区大橋町にある銅像で表されています。
Hikokuro left a diary over many years, and is said to have had a great influence on Yoshida Shoin and other people who were called samurai at the end of the Edo period.
