京都府京都市東山区の白川に架かる石橋です。

It is a stone bridge over the Shirakawa River in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.

この橋は比叡山延暦寺の千日回峰行を達成した行者が、天台宗の寺院である尊勝院の第18代天台座主である元三大師に満行を報告する際、入洛して最初に渡る橋だったことから行者橋や阿闍梨橋（あじゃり橋）とも呼ばれています。

It is also called the Gyosha Bridge or the Ajari Bridge because it was the first bridge to cross when a pilgrim who had achieved the 1,000-day pilgrimage of Mt. Hiei’s Enryakuji Temple reported his full journey to the former three great masters, the 18th Tendai Seat Master of the Tendai Buddhist temple, Sonsho-in.

一本橋は簡素な石造りで、御影石を縦に2列ずつ並べただけのシンプルな構造をしています。欄干や装飾はなく、幅は約60センチ、対岸までの長さは約12メートルです。人々は気軽に行き交い、自転車で通ることもあります。

The bridge is a simple stone structure with only two rows of granite arranged vertically. There are no balustrades or decorations, the width is about 60 centimeters, and the length to the opposite bank is about 12 meters. People come and go casually, and sometimes they pass by on bicycles.

この橋は日本百名橋の番外に選ばれ、白川沿いに植えられている柳も風情を醸し出しています。一本橋からは知恩院や円山公園を経由して八坂神社に向かう散策ルートもおすすめです。

It was selected as an extra of Japan’s Hyakumei Bridge, and the willows planted along the Shirakawa River also create an atmosphere. From Ipponbashi, we also recommend a walking route to Yasaka Shrine via Chion-in Temple and Maruyama Park.

観光名所にほど近い場所に、人1人しか通れない一本橋があります。撮影などにも使われてるそうで、観光ついでにフラッと寄るのもありですね(^^)。カップルだったり1人で撮っても雰囲気あっていい写真が撮れるかと思います(//∇//)。

京都市東山区にある白川一本橋。石の橋で、行者橋とも呼ばれています。夏は川の両脇にある柳の緑とマッチして綺麗です。風情があっていいですよ。近くには知恩院も…。

Shirakawa Ipponbashi in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City. It is a stone bridge, also known as the Traveler’s Bridge. In summer, it is beautiful to match the green of the willows on both sides of the river. It’s nice to have a taste. There is also Chion-in Temple nearby.

祇園白川一本橋は個人的お気に入りの観光スポット。近隣には昭和レトロな古川町商店街や知恩院、祇園、八坂神社も近く見所の多いお薦め観光スポットです。

Gion Shirakawa Ipponbashi is my personal favorite tourist spot. Nearby are the Showa retro Furukawacho shopping street, Chion-in, Gion, and Yasaka Shrine, which are also recommended sightseeing spots with many attractions nearby.
