そのときに詠んだ句が「旅に病んで夢は枯野をかけ廻る」です。この句は、南御堂の境内左手奥の庭園に碑として建てられています。また、南御堂の前の御堂筋東側緑地内にも「芭蕉終焉の地」の碑があります。南御堂では、毎年11月に芭蕉忌という法要と句会が行われています。
The haiku he composed at that time was “I’m sick of traveling and my dreams run around dry fields.” This haiku is built as a monument in the garden on the left side of the precincts of Minamimido.
