ご本尊は「目疾地蔵菩薩」で、この仏さまは眼病で苦しんでいた老夫婦を救ったことから、眼病平癒のご利益があるとされています。

普段はガラス越しに拝むことができますが、2月の節分会ではガラス戸が開かれ、「目疾地蔵尊」を直接拝むことができるそうです。また、期間限定の開運厄除「起き上がりダルマ」も授与されているそうです。
Normally, you can worship through the glass, but at the Setsubun meeting in February, the glass door will be opened and you can worship the “Megi Jizoson” directly. In addition, it seems that a limited-time good luck removal “Rise Dharma” is also awarded.
仲源寺の境内には他にも重要文化財である「千手観世音菩薩像」や大黒天（だいこくてん）、天道大日如来、妙見大菩薩（みょうけんぼさつ）、道了大権現（どうりょう ごんげん）なども祀られています。さらに、水子供養地蔵尊もあり、毎月24日には水子供養の法要が行われています。

京阪電鉄・祇園四条駅を降りて四条通を東山方面に少し歩いたところにある浄土宗のお寺です。四条通りは観光客で大混雑でしたが、そんな中にあって、ひっそり佇むような印象でした。
It is a temple of the Jodo sect located a short walk along Shijo-dori toward Higashiyama after getting off at Gion Shijo Station on the Keihan Electric Railway. Shijo Street was crowded with tourists, but I had the impression that it was quietly standing in such a situation.
京都祇園、四条の大通り沿いの賑やかな商店街の途中に、静かにたたずむ寺。京都旅行の際、目の健康にご利益がある寺社を探していたところこちらを見つける。お堂に安置された目やみ地蔵様が眼病に苦しむ人の身代わりになってくださるそう。お地蔵様の姿がおさめられたお守りも購入しました。
A temple quietly nestled in the middle of a bustling shopping street along the main street of Shijo in Gion, Kyoto. When I was traveling to Kyoto, I was looking for temples and shrines that are beneficial for eye health, and I found this one. It is said that the eye and eye Jizo enshrined in the hall will take the place of those suffering from eye diseases. I also bought an amulet with the figure of Jizo-sama on it.
本尊の地蔵菩薩は眼病に霊験があるとして信仰されていますが、元々は洪水の際に雨が止むように祈願されたお地蔵さまでした。時代が進むと共に「あめやみ」が「めやみ」と転化し、信仰も変化しました。
The main Buddha, Jizo Bodhisattva, is believed to have spiritual experiences for eye diseases, but originally he was a Jizo who prayed for the rain to stop during floods. As time progressed, “candy” changed to “meyami,” and faith also changed.
