ガス灯発祥の地について、探偵1日料金を３時間調査39.800円（当社料金）と仮定して調査してきましたのでご報告します。当時のガス灯は、石炭から発生させたガスを燃やすことで光を放ち、直接火口から火を点灯し、炎を直接明かりとして利用していました。

ガス灯を初めて作った「日本ガス社中」の跡地にあたる横浜市立本町小学校内には、ガス灯発祥の碑がありました。

「日本最初のガス灯」って、説明文を読まなければ多分100%の人がスルーしてしまうと思いますが、横浜市民は、社会科の勉強で小学校の時に習うそうです。ガス灯自体を見ても地味なので、そこに初めて火が灯った時のことを想像しながら見てあげてください。
If you don’t read the description, probably 100% of people will pass through “Japan’s first gas lamp”, but Yokohama citizens learn it when they are in elementary school as part of their social studies studies. Even if you look at the gas lamp itself, it is sober, so please look at it while imagining the first time it was lit.
ガス灯そのものは復元されたものですが、当時の馬車道の様子が写った写真を転写したプレートを掲げるなど、なかなか凝っています。馬車道にはこのほか、アイスクリームや写真などに関する記念碑があるので、見て歩くのも楽しいかも。
