東長寺は、福岡県福岡市博多区にある真言宗の寺院で、九州における真言宗九州教団の拠点寺院（別格本山）です。山号は南岳山、正式名称は東長密寺で、日本最古の寺とされています。
Tochoji Temple is a Shingon Buddhist temple located in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and is the base temple of the Shingon sect Kyushu sect in Kyushu. The mountain number is Nandake Mountain, and the official name is Higashichomiji Temple, which is considered to be the oldest temple in the Japan.

円覚寺は、博多御供所町にあります。円覚寺は、寛元4年（1246）に宋より渡来した高僧、大覚禅師（蘭渓道隆）により開山され、北条時頼が大伽藍を矢倉門に創建し、師を開山祖師としたとされています。
Engakuji Temple is located in Hakata Goshocho. Engakuji Temple was opened in the 4th year of Kangen (1246) by the high priest Daikakuzen master (Rankei Dōtaka), who came from Song, and it is said that Hojo Tokiyori founded the Great Temple at Yagura Gate and made the master the founder of the mountain.
ただし、時の戦乱・兵火により傳燈の系統、歴年の事跡等すべて焼失したため、現在の円覚寺は寛永13年（1636年）聖福寺の境内に基礎を移転したものです。
